Alps 2008 updates

Mountainvision

We have been providing Alpine mountaineering courses and guiding from the Swiss Alps since 1994. Our base is Saas Grund in the Swiss Valais Alps.

Our Alpine Courses from early May until the end of September, are run from Saas Grund, in the Valais Alps. Surrounding the Saas & Zermatt valleys is a huge selection of some of the best & most famous Swiss 4000 metre peaks, including Monte Rosa, the Matterhorn Ober Gabelhorn, Zinal Rothorn, Weisshorn, Dom, Nadelhorn, Alphubel, Allalinhorn, Strahlhorn, Rimpfischhorn, Weissmies, Lagginhorn & more!

For
Mont Blanc we use some of these marvellous 4000 metre peaks for acclimatisation & training, before driving over to Chamonix for the ascent of Mont Blanc. So clients have the opportunity to experience
& get to know two contrasting Alpine areas.

The Eiger, the Bernese Oberland & the Gran Paradiso are all within a couple of hours drive.

Our Courses in Scotland during the Winter, Spring & Autumn, are run from our base in Kinlochewe, and from Carbost on Skye. We are a few miles south of the Torridon mountains - with the 'big three' - Liathach, Beinn Eighe and Beinn Alligin dominating. We have Beinn Bhan and the Applecross hills on our doorstep, with Sgorr Ruadh and Fuar Tholl nearby. Across the way is Skye and the Cuillin hills. In the Spring & Autumn we run Cuillin Traverse, Scrambling, and Cuillin Munro courses from Carbost, a village at the head of Glen Brittle.

Our past Nepal Expeditions include the Khumbu Lobuche East & Pokalde in 2005, and Mera & Island Peak in 2006 & 2007.

Our Corsica trekking holidays include the traverse of the GR20 - a super Cuillin Ridge, but with lots of sun & no midges!
